Cotton Yarns

Our cottons and cotton blends have started to arrive.  From Geilsk yarn we have received several beautiful colors of Geilsk Cotton Wool (Bomuld og Uld)  yarn, 55% Lambswool, 45% Cotton 250 yards in 50 grams;  a fingering weight yarn with the warmth of wool and the lightness and loft of cotton. Blending the wool with cotton softens and smooth’s the wool even more, and the two natural fibers combined together in the wide range of beautiful colors. Its makes the perfect yarn for year round fine gauge sweaters, wraps and accessories for everyone. This yarn works well with color work patterns.   For those of you that love fingering weight yarn, this is the spring and summer yarn for you.  If you like a heavier gauge yarn, double this yarn for a beautiful dk weight.

 

From ITO we have received Urugami -72% Wool, 28% Paper; 262 yards in 40 grams-one of the amazingly beautiful fine gauge Ito yarns designed to work alone or together with other yarns. Urugami combines the lightness of paper with the soft touch of wool.  A twisted paper core is wrapped in wool to produce a smooth yarn with clear stitch definition and a uniquely beautiful drape. Like other Japanese paper yarns, Urugami is cool in the summer and warm in the winter.  

 

From Berroco we have received Corsica 90% Cotton and 10% Cashmere; spun with luxurious cashmere and the finest cotton, Corsica is a lovely yarn with beautiful stitch definition, offered in a palette of soft neutrals and pastels.  Machine-washable and made in Italy, this is a beautiful yarn for your spring and summer knits.

 

From Cascade yarns we have received one of their new sock yarns Heritage Wave

75% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, 437 yards, machine washable and tumble-dry low.  Heritage Wave develops stripes as you knit. Heritage Wave is an excellent sock yarn with its nylon content that provides strength, but it's also great for colorfully striped shawls and other accessories.

 

Also from Cascade yarns we have received new colors of Ultra Pima Fine, 100% Cotton. It's a great yarn for the warmer months, and supremely soft. It's machine washable and easy to care for, so it’s perfect for gifts too, especially for babies and children! Made in Peru.
